We are there for those in need

EurAsia Heart is a Swiss-based foundation established in 2006, which focuses primarily on heart surgery and cardiology in developing and emerging countries. The focus is on the treatment of congenital heart defects in children as well as in the field of acquired heart diseases in adults.

WHO WE ARE

EurAsia Heart established a medical network in Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa, which deals with heart disease in children and adults. The physicians volunteer their services in local cooperation and support prevention and education.

WHERE WE ARE ACTIVE

EurAsia Heart Foundation is active in developing and emerging countries in Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. The health care systems of these countries cannot be compared with those of industrialized countries. Support is therefore urgently needed.

NEWS

EurAsia Heart Foundation
in Iraq

In Kerbala, the holy Shiite city in Iraq, EurAsia Heart is working with Prof. David Berishvili and his 25-strong team from Tbilisi, Georgia. In Kerbala, up to three children with complex heart defects are operated on every day. Prof. Berishvili’s team has an excellent level of paediatric cardiology, surgery and intensive care medicine.

EurAsia Heart Foundation
in Afghanistan

Since 2022, EurAsia Heart has conducted 5 missions to Afghanistan together with SWISSCROSS. EurAsia Heart operates on children and adults with the local team of the “Institute of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Diseases” of the Kabul University of Medical Sciences.

Recently joined the Medical Board

The foundation is pleased to welcome Prof. Davis Berishvili and Dr. Olga Stepanicheva as new members of the Medical Board.

My personal matter of the heart

Cardiovascular diseases are still the main cause of death in developing and emerging countries among adults and children. In some countries, deaths from untreated heart disease or heart defects in children under the age of 5 exceed those from AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. It has been a matter from the bottom of my heart for many years to use my experience and expertise to help these people.
